"HAPPINESS IS A COLLAGE"

 

I LOVE MAKING COLLAGES! Guess it's just the fact that so many things I love can be put in one place to look at all at once,  kind of like creating a vignette, which you might know, is one of my favorite things to do.  I have been so busy lately and have not taken the time to blog.  When I make a collage or mosaic, I feel as if my bloggy friends can see what I have been up to, without a lot of posts. In this collage you can see what I have been creating. I can honestly say that I have had lots of fun making these treasures.  It's very time consuming but I have loved each minute!!  

I HAVE BEEN HAVING SOME MAJOR COMPUTER ISSUES!! SOOOO......

My laptop has a virus and is in the shop.  I am now using my desktop which I also had to take to the shop because I couldn't remember my password.  I haven't been able to use it in over a year but that was alright since I love my laptop & prefer to use it.  Anyway, I was looking at my pictures, that I haven't seen in over a year, and thought I would post some of the collages I made with Picasa.  I really enjoy making them and I hope you enjoy them, too!!

  What a time we had....leaving early Tuesday morning, Sept. 13th, heading for the Creative Connection event in Minneapolis.  Jenn was so cute sitting behind the wheel in her black Denali SUV with Miss Pinky, her PINK trailer, following all the way!  BTW, she is a  great driver! We really got a lot of looks pulling that pink trailer!!! After stopping for the night (where? I can't remember) the next morning we started afresh, heading for our destination.  Did I mention the looks we got???lol  We finally arrived in MI, Tuesday afternoon.at the Hyatt & checked into our hotel room,which was btw...Room 2010"! LOL  Later, we met up with Christine Rose Elle and Jessi Nagy(our room mate) & had a wonderful dinner.  The next morning was very chaotic as we unloaded the trailer and set up our booths.  Although it was tiring, it was still fun.  Jenn and Jessi set up the most beautiful and magical booth. It was like pink heaven!!! I only rented a table so my area was smaller & in a different section of the market. We still visited each other, though.  I met some wonderful ladies and saw alot of friends.  My camera decided to break while I was there so I only have a few pictures of the event and my friends.  Please visit these blogs to see some great pictures:  http://sweeteyecandycreations.typepad.com/ or to http://scrappyjessi.blogspot.com/. I posted a few pictures that I was able to salvage and will post some pictures of my booth and the things I was selling that I had taken before my camera died. I will say that this was a learning experience, drinving so far from home & both of us vending for the first time!  Jenn made it very enjoyable, all the way there and back.  I would do it again, for her, but not to vend. Jenn is a darling and is so thoughtful in every way.  I really enjoyed the time we spent together.  I also enjoyed the adorable and vivacious, Jessi, the adorable and sweet Christine, & the adorable and sweetest, Danielle. I also got to know a special lady while I was there, too.  Her name is Elizabeth(pictured above) and her table was next to mine. She made the most adorable clutches!  I will never forget her sweet smile and her sweet soul. We plan to keep in touch. Another sweetie was Kelly,(pictured above) Elizabeth's friend and now mine!lol Her table was next to Elizabeth's & she sold pretty felt bows and headbands.
I will post more about our trip at a later time....lots more to tell!!!lol

This is my studio where I love to create. It is where I spend most of my time when I am at home. I have decorated my studio in my favorite style, which I call "Cottage Chic Victorian". It is a mixture of frills and lacey things such as decorated dress forms, a pale aqua sideboard with drawers full of supplies and adorned with some of the things I love on top. I think your studio should reflect the person you are and the things you treasure.  It makes creating so much easier when you are in a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. So here is my studio space and some of the things I have made. I love to participate in art events and art swaps. I collect dress forms and have probably 25 throughout my home. I love to use them in my studio to display some of the beautiful tags, paper dolls, etc. that I have received from fellow swappers. It is just incredible to me to have found so many amazing & talented people in this world and to be able to share the creative blood with them. I am still working on adding shelves in my studio but I have not yet found exactly what I am looking for!! When I do, I will share it with you. Thanks for visiting me here in my office...it was my pleasure to share it with you!!

MY PICTURES ARE BACK! I AM HERE AT THE BEACH IN NAVARRE, AGAIN!! THIS IS THE SCENE FROM MY BALCONY. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL! HOPEFULLY IT WILL STAY THAT WAY & THE OIL SPILL WILL NOT CAUSE TOO MANY PROBLEMS! WISH YOU WERE HERE!!

For  some reason my pictures are not showing! Don't know what happened!!! They were here when I did this post!! I have tried to add them again and I keep getting the message "failed" so I guess I will have to wait until I get back home to try again. I guess it's just a connection issue here.

Anyway, it is really beautiful here and we are praying that it will stay that way! It's really awful to think that these beautiful white beaches could be covered in black oil soon!
