Antiques in Old Town (Lilburn, GA)

OHHHH, SWEETPEAS, LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!!! This is my most favorite antique shop!! A couple of months ago my husband played in a golf tournament at 'The Bear's Best' in Suwannee, Ga. so I called a friend of mine, Pam, that lived near the area to see if she could meet me for lunch. She is so sweet and offered to show me around some of the shops in her area. We met and went to several shops and then to lunch at the 'Blue Rooster' in Lilburn. We were going to that last shop, 'Antiques in Old Town' as soon as we finished our lunch. Just as we finished, my phone rang and it was dear hubby. He was ready for me to pick him up and head back home...nooooo, I wasn't ready!!! I decided to go ahead and just walk in the store really fast because Pam had already told me how much I was going to like it! (there are only 2 0r 3 stores between Antiques in Old Town and the Blue Rooster) She had also told me that, Cheryl Alexander, had things for sale there & there was no way that I was leaving without seeing them!!!lol I had bought 3 mantle tops & other things from her when she had a booth in 'The Old Buggy Factory' in Madison before it closed its doors and her things were out of this world gorgeous!! Okay, Pam saved the best for last because when I walked in, I almost passed out....it was so magical! Cheryl really has the most beautiful antique furniture, chandeliers, lace, etc and the girl really knows how to display it all!!! The 1st thing that caught my eye was the most beautiful antique dress form with a hoop that was decorated so beautifully that I almost peed myself!!! I looked at Pam and said "ooooohhhhh!!! that is soooo beautiful, but surely it can't be for sale"....thinking it was for display only. Imagine to my surprise when I saw a price tag hanging on it!!! I ripped it off and took it to the counter and gave it to Rowann, who I found out later, is the shop owner. I told her I had to go pick up my husband but I would be back to pay for it in a little while. I zoomed out of the shop & picked up my husband, who BTW... hates, hates, hates to shop!!! I immediately told him where we were going and what he was buying. We got to the shop and I begged him to let me look around for a few minutes...he was worried about getting caught in the Atlanta traffic but he, being the sweet man he is, let me look while he paid for the dress form and loaded in the car. I managed to get a few more items that I loved and luckily we didn't hit any traffic. I called my bff, Carolyn, on the way home and told her all about the shop. We decided to go there on the following weekend. I just couldn't wait to get back....there were so many things I wanted to look at!! That day I bought a vintage chandelier and yet another mantle(no. 4)!!! I asked Rowann to ask Cheryl if she had anymore dress forms with hoops so to make a long story short, Cheryl and I became friends over the phone. She actually found another dress form for me that I went to pick up last Saturday, August 30th. I also picked up another mantle(no.5) that I saw on her blog and asked them to hold it for me. I couldn't believe it, when I walked into the shop and to the front desk, I asked Rowann if she knew if Cheryl was coming in......& there she was sitting there!!! We finally met in person....she is a lovely and friendly person....I felt as if I had known her all my life!!! This is a picture of her(on the left) and myself in her beautiful booth. We look a little alike don't we??? Anyway, I put yet another mantle of hers on layaway(no. 6)!!!! When I go back to pick it up, I will take lots of pictures for everyone to see. Rowann & her husband, Hugh, are the sweetest people ever. I just love their shop!! If you are ever in the Atlanta area, you really need to go....but don't buy my dress forms or mantles!!!!LOL
