Seven going on seventeen!!!

Raven is growing up so very fast! She was 7 on March 10th. We went to Lowes & Walmart last Friday to buy some spring flowers. I told her she could pick out something for herself at Walmart....she usually picks out a toy...Polly Pockets, Pet Shops or My Little Pony....this time she said she wanted some fake fingernails! She didn't want the little girl nails but the grown-up ones. I let her get these, knowing they didn't come with glue that might be harmful to her little body. I used some nail hardner that I already had & explained to her that she could wear them for a little while & then they would fall off. She was alright with that, believe it or not!!! She just wanted me to take some pictures of her & her grown-up nails.

My Marie Antoinette Shoe!!!

I recently joined the "Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group". If you love Marie Antoinette, you should definitely check this group out! There are lots of swaps you can join. I love, love, love shoes but can't wear heels anymore(due to the aging factor, but we won't go into that right now), so I thought the "Altered Marie Shoe" swap would be perfect!!! I chose this fuschia pump and this is what I came up with!! I hope my swap partner, Heidi, likes it!!!

I didn't make it to Antiques In Old Town after all!!!!

I really tried to get there!!! Really, I did!!! I picked up my friend, Jackie & headed that way! It was raining so very hard & the traffic was terrible & I accidentally got off at the wrong exit. I didn't even realize it until I had gone about 30 miles!!!lol We still had a great time, though. We ended up shopping in Conyers & Covington. I bought a beautiful "Gone With the Wind" lamp at Churchill Antiques in Covington. It's pink and beautiful & I got a great price!!! The next morning my son came over at 8 a.m. to go with me to Antiques In Old Town. We decided it was just too dangerous to drive that far with all the storms coming through. It rained all day. It was just a good day to stay inside....so that's exactly what I did!!! I hate that I missed the spring open house but I will be going there soon to see what is left!!! Cheryl and the other girls there are always putting new treasures in their booths so maybe I will get something very special!!!lol

"Pretty & Romantic Things"

I love making mosaics! I try to stay in the same color scheme when putting it together. My theme for this one is "Pretty & Romantic Things", Brooklyn being the prettiest thing!!!lol My favorite thing to do when it comes to decorating, is making vignettes. My least favorite thing....hanging pictures!!! I really don't have an eye for doing this! Behind everyone of my pictures you will find at least 3 holes!!!(just ask my hubby!!!)LOL

I was just looking at some of my pictures and came across the ones of this blue vintage prom dress.

It's just the sweetest prom dress, ever! I love it! I wonder about the girl who wore it to the prom...was she a blonde, brunette or redhead??? What kind of flowers did her date give her.... & what did he look like???? Oh, and of course I wonder how she wore her hair!! What kind of shoes did she wear & did she carry a little evening purse??? These are just some of the questions I have in my mind when I look at this gorgeous dress! I would love to see a picture of her all decked out!!
